The Paralympic athletics team will travel to Morocco tomorrow to participate in the Marrakesh International Championships

The delegation of the Egyptian Paralympic athletics team will travel tomorrow, Saturday, to Morocco to participate in the Marrakesh International Athletics Championships during the period from 21 to 29 April.

 

The team finished Egypt Paralympic Athletics, led by technical director Mohamed Issa, is preparing to participate in the Marrakesh International Championship, which is one of the qualifying tournaments for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, where the team held its closed camp at the Olympic Center in Maadi, which ends today, Friday. Imad Ramadan, treasurer of the Egyptian Paralympic Committee, was keen to visit The athletics team camp before the delegation travels to Morocco tomorrow.

 

The Egyptian athletics team is participating in the Marrakesh International Championship, with a list of 6 players, including 5 female athletes and one female player, in competitions. Sprinting, throwing and jumping, and they are:

 Karim Mahmoud, the sprint player in the 100-meter and 200-meter competitions, T44 category.

Mohamed Kamal, the discus player in the F37 category.

Abdul Rahman Youssef, long jumper, T46 category.

Jomaa Muhammad, discus player, F56 category.

Mustafa Fathallah, sprint player in the 200 meters competition, T37 category.

Sohaila Taha, athlete Discus class F57.

 

The delegation is headed by Shaaban Al-Khatib, a member of the Board of Directors of the Paralympic Committee, and the technical and administrative staff of the team consists of: Muhammad Issa, head of the technical staff, Ahmed Khairy, javelin throw coach, and Ahmed Nasr is the running and jumping coach, and Ahmed Al-Attar is an administrator.

 

Shaaban Al-Khatib, board member, revealed  The Paralympic Committee and the head of the team delegation participating in the Marrakesh International Championship said that the tournament is witnessing strong competition due to the participation of 54 countries due to their keenness to qualify for the Paris Paralympics.

 

Al-Khatib added that Egypt is seeking to achieve distinguished numbers. , especially before the World Championships in Japan, which represents the final stage of qualification for the Paralympic Games.

 

Shaaban Al-Khatib confirmed that the Paralympic Committee, led by Dr. Hossam El-Din Mustafa  It seeks to continue development and increase the base of practicing players with disabilities, in light of the interest  President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, for Persons with Disabilities.

 

And on the sidelines of the tournament, a    Taha, which is an education course to raise the efficiency of players.

 

The tournament is one of the strongest tournaments on the agenda of the International Paralympic Committee for qualification for the Paris 2024 Games.
