The Prime Minister of Romania visits the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque
ABU DHABI, 19 APRIL / WAM / His Excellency Ion Marcel Ciulacu, Prime Minister of the Republic of Romania, visited the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, accompanied by His Excellency Sultan Mohammed Majid Al Ali, UAE Ambassador to Romania, His Excellency Bogdan Octavian Badica, Ambassador of the Republic of Romania to the UAE, and a number of senior officials in The Republic of Romania, and the accompanying delegation, as part of his official visit to the country.
His Excellency and the accompanying delegation began their tour of the mosque by visiting the tomb of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, “may God rest his soul,” recalling his legacy and wise approach that contributed to promoting a culture of tolerance, coexistence and peace among the various peoples of the world.
His Excellency and the accompanying delegation, accompanied by His Excellency Dr. Yousef Al-Obaidli, Director General of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, toured the mosque’s halls and external corridors and learned about the mosque’s cultural message calling for coexistence, tolerance and openness to others emanating from the exploits and values of the founding father, and the great role played by the Sheikh Mosque Centre. Zayed the Great in introducing the tolerant Islamic culture, building bridges of rapprochement with various cultures of the world, and what distinguishes it from other houses of worship.
His Excellency and the accompanying delegation were briefed on the history of the founding of the grand edifice, the aesthetics of the mosque, the marvelous arts of Islamic architecture that were clearly evident in all its corners, the unique collectibles the mosque contains, and the most wonderful arts and engineering designs that Islamic civilization has created throughout the ages, which despite their differences and diversity came together in their design. The mosque, to reflect the beauty and harmony of cultures in one creative work.
At the conclusion of the visit, the guest of the mosque was presented with a copy of the book “Spaces of Light,” one of the publications of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Centre, which includes a number of distinguished photographs that won the “Spaces of Light” photography award, which the center periodically organizes, highlighting the aesthetics of Islamic architecture in The mosque, in addition to giving him a copy of the book “Houses of God,” which deals with the architecture of mosques in Islamic history, including the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.
