Abdullah bin Salem Al Qasimi follows up field efforts to drain rainwater and reviews the effects of the weather condition in the Al Majaz area

Sharjah, April 20, WAM / His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, this afternoon, Saturday, followed the field efforts of the work teams working on draining rainwater in the Al Majaz area, after the weather condition that the country witnessed last Tuesday.

His Highness listened to a detailed explanation about the efforts being made to implement the plans drawn up by the Emergency and Crisis Team in the Emirate of Sharjah to drain rainwater in the region, and the mechanism of operation of the main stations and the numbers of pumps and equipment available. His Highness learned about the details of the station and its capacity to withdraw rainwater, which amounts to 55 million gallons. Per day.

His Highness the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah was briefed on the effects of the weather condition that the country witnessed and the most prominent available capabilities that contribute to reducing the resulting damage. His Highness watched the work of mobile pumps that empty rainwater at a rate of 7.6 million gallons per day.

His Highness praised the efforts of the work teams and those responsible for the rainwater drainage process, who are present around the clock in the field to serve the residents of the region, calling on them to intensify efforts and provide facilities to meet the needs of the residents and ensure ease of movement and easy use of the emirate’s roads.

During the tour, His Highness the Deputy Ruler of Sharjah was accompanied by Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, Head of the Local Emergency and Crisis Team in the Emirate of Sharjah, Afaf Ibrahim Al Marri, Head of the Department of Social Services, Obaid Saeed Al Taniji, Director General of the Municipality of the Emirate of Sharjah, and Colonel Sami Khamis Al Naqbi, Director General.
