“It’s a pain from morning to night”

At 66, host Christophe Dechavanne is the father of three children. He doesn’t regret fatherhood but admits that it hasn’t been easy!

Is Christophe Dechavanne a father hen? The 66-year-old host has spoken several times in the media about his relationship with Pauline, Paul-Henri and Ninon. And raising three children has not been easy for the co-presenter of What an era! with Léa Salamé, on France 2.

Christophe Dechavanne talks about the “ingratefulness” of children

The host spoke about paternity at the microphone of Déborah Grunwald on France Bleu. The PAF star returned to his numerous statements in the media, explaining why he believes that raising a child is one of the most difficult things in the world. “It’s a pain from morning to night, he blurted out bluntly. We freak out all the time, we’re afraid, we think about them. Am I doing it right? Is this good ? Is he okay?”

Although his three children are now grown up, Christophe Dechavanne perfectly remembers the years when they were still at school and all that that entailed: “Why isn’t he here?! Don’t you know who he’s with? Didn’t he call you? Did he get 2? Why did he get 2? Out of how many? Out of 20. That’s not much!” Children for whom parents worry every day. “I heard a famous guy whose name I forgot say one day: ‘I am blissful at the ingratitude of our children,’ continues the former host of The celebrity farm. We give them our love, our concern. Our parents were annoying to us and we do the same, we do the same”, he added on France Bleu.

The pain of the host, at odds with his son Paul-Henri

And if being a father is not easy, that in no way takes away the love that Christophe Dechavanne feels for his children. “You can never give enough love. If you love your children, tell them. If you don’t love your children, don’t tell them. Tell them you love them anyway. That’s better! ”

Comments in reference to his son? In his book Without transition… published to Flammarion editions in January 2024, the small screen star reveals not to have been in contact with Paul-Henri for more than ten years. I I am very close to my two daughters, Ninon and Pauline”he writes.I also have a son who makes his own life. (…) Life has kept us apart for a decade now (…). My friends tell me he’ll come back.”we can still read.

A distance in the face of which he finds comfort with his daughters. Accused of violence and humiliation by an ex-partner, who had testified in Do not touch My TV on C8, Christophe Dechavanne was also able to count on their unfailing support. “We know our father well, his relationship with people and particularly with women. He is respectful. What is said is invented and lamentable”, the two sisters wrote on social networks. Finally, Christophe Dechavanne can reassure himself: he seems to have established a great relationship with his children.
