The Emirates Family Medicine Conference begins the day after tomorrow in Dubai

DUBAI, April 20 / WAM / Under the patronage and presence of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, the seventh conference of the Emirates Division of Family Medicine 2024 will begin tomorrow, Monday, which will last for three days at the Dubai World Trade Center in Dubai and is considered the largest annual family medicine event at the global level. The conference is organized by the Emirates Family Medicine Division of the Emirates Medical Association and with the participation of the Dubai Health Authority.

The conference is attended by His Excellency Awad Saghir Al Ketbi, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority, Dr. Marwan Al Mulla, Executive Director of the Health Regulation Sector, Ahmed Al Nuaimi, Executive Director of the Joint Institutional Support Services Sector, Fatima Abbas, Executive Director of the Strategy and Institutional Development Sector, and Saleh Al Hashimi, Executive Director of the Dubai Health Insurance Corporation, along with an elite group of doctors and officials. A number of heads of family medicine in the Arabian Gulf and the Middle East, international speakers from the American Academy of Family Physicians, and Dr. Maryam Matar, founder and chair of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Society for Genetic Diseases.

The Emirates Family Medicine Division of the Emirates Medical Association is keen to organize this conference annually, which is considered one of the most important events in the field of family medicine in the region and has achieved remarkable success since the launch of its first session in 2018, with a steady annual increase in the number of attendees and participants.

The Division aims through this conference to shed light on global developments in family medicine and the latest means of prevention, diagnosis, treatment and revolutionary techniques in this field.

This year’s edition of the conference will focus on the role of artificial intelligence and “metaverse” in the healthcare sector in general and family medicine in particular, especially with the UAE’s move towards artificial intelligence and digital medical services, out of its belief that these technologies represent the cornerstone in developing the sector and improving its services, as the Ministry of Health and Community Protection A comprehensive plan to integrate artificial intelligence 100% into medical services, consistent in content and objectives with the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence and the UAE Centennial 2071, to bring about a transformation in the field of health care provided to patients.

Although these technologies are still in their infancy, they open wide horizons and unlimited potential if they are properly exploited in the scientific, practical and humanitarian aspects.

For his part, Dr. Muhammad Farghali, Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Conference and Chairman of the Scientific Committee of the Emirates Division of Family Medicine, stated that the UAE is a pioneer in holding and launching global scientific conferences to discuss the most prominent developments in these important sectors and has now played a pivotal role in developing global strategies and protocols in the health sector through the recommendations that are made. Dr. Farghali explained that the conference will address work on building primary health care capabilities in the field of readiness and rapid response within the comprehensive and integrated health system to enhance the capabilities, systems and role of family medicine.
