Dubai, April 20 / WAM / UAE Sports has strengthened its lead in the first Gulf Youth Games hosted by the UAE until next May 2, after raising its tally to 118 colored medals in first place for the tournament, which is held under the slogan “Our Gulf is One… Our Youth is Promising,” with the participation of 3,500. Male and female athletes compete in 24 games.
The male and female UAE national team players succeeded in winning 33 new medals during the competitions of the fourth day of the tournament, bringing the total to 118 colored medals, consisting of 39 gold medals, 47 silver medals, and 32 bronze medals.
Saudi Arabia raised its tally in second place to 42 colored medals (21 gold, 11 silver, and 10 bronze), followed by Kuwait in third place with 48 colored medals (11 gold, 19 silver, and 18 bronze), and the Sultanate of Oman came in fourth place with 27 medals (14 gold). , 5 silver, and 8 bronze), then Bahrain is in fifth place with 24 medals (9 gold, 7 silver, and 8 bronze), then Qatar is in sixth place with 15 medals (6 gold, 5 silver, and 4 bronze).
The athletics team won 24 colored medals, 7 gold, 9 silver, and 8 bronze, after adding 13 medals in the second day’s competitions held yesterday, Friday, at the Dubai Police Officers Club field and track.
Saudi Arabian Athletics raised its tally to 12 medals, with 6 gold, 3 silver, and 3 bronze. Kuwait won 16 medals, 3 gold, 8 silver, and 5 bronze. Qatar won 5 medals, 3 gold and 2 silver, and Oman won 6 medals, including 2 gold. 4 bronze medals, and Bahrain 3 medals, two gold and one bronze.
In the most prominent Emirati results, player Shouq Hashem achieved a distinguished achievement by winning the gold medal in the hammer toss competition, by coming in first place and scoring 40:38 metres, breaking the UAE record registered in her name, and she surpassed Kuwaiti national team player Dalal Al-Azmi, who came in second, scoring 40:34 metres. Oman national team player Kaltham Khamis was third with 39:92 ​​metres.
The UAE also dominated the gold medals in the team rapid chess competition within the chess championship held in the Sharjah Cultural Chess Club hall, where the UAE champions and champions won 4 gold medals in the four competitions under 14 and 18 for males and females.
In the U-18 competition for males, our team came in first place with 6 points, and the Kuwait team came in second place with 3 points and the Sultanate of Oman third with 2 points. In the U-14 competition for males, our team won first place with 6 points, and Qatar came in second place with 3 points. Kuwait is third with two points.
Our Paralympic team also raised its collection to 30 colorful medals by the end of the athletics competitions for people of determination at the Dubai Police Officers Club, after winning 16 new medals.
Our Paralympic team won 9 gold medals, 12 silver, and 9 bronze. Saudi Arabia came second with 6 gold medals, Bahrain was third with 10 medals, including 4 gold, 5 silver, and one bronze. Oman was fourth with 6 medals, 3 gold, one silver, and two bronze. Qatar with two golds.
Our youth Paralympic team won 14 medals on the first day (Thursday).
