"ISESCO" Organizing a training workshop in Libya on crisis and natural disaster management
The Science and Environment Sector of the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) organized a training workshop on crisis and natural disaster management, in the city of Derna, Libya, in cooperation with the Libyan National Committee for Education, Culture and Science, the University of Derna and Zallaf Libya Company.
A statement by ISESCO said on Monday that the training workshop, which lasted for two days and concluded its work today, aimed to discuss and evaluate current policies related to disaster and natural crisis management, propose improvements to them, and enable participants to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to deal with crises and natural disasters. , exploring and presenting innovative and effective solutions to deal with natural disasters and reduce their effects, in addition to encouraging community participation and educating individuals about their roles in preventing and responding to disasters.
In his speech during the opening session, via video communication technology, Dr. Adel Samaida indicated He explained that ISESCO’s vision and strategic directions are based on several facts, including that investing in education and science is the key to building strong and sustainable societies, by promoting scientific research and encouraging the use of modern technology to confront and recover from environmental risks, noting that a number of people benefited from the training workshop. Workers in the field of disaster and crisis management, local administrations, the Libyan National Authority for Safety, Ambulance and Emergency, the electricity, communications, water and sanitation sectors, environmental offices, women’s associations, agricultural and forestry control departments, and a group of workers in public relations and the media.
