The Australian Dental Council grants international accreditation to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery program at the University of Sharjah

Sharjah, April 22 / WAM / The Australian Dental Council has accredited the Bachelor of Dental Surgery program at the University of Sharjah with international accreditation for a period of five years, in a new achievement that is added to the record of achievements of the University of Sharjah in its journey towards excellence and enhancing its position at the regional and international levels, following the visit of the Council delegation. Professor Dr. Hamid Majoul Al Nuaimi, Director of the University of Sharjah, confirmed that this achievement comes in implementation of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, President of the University of Sharjah, which requires working to enhance the university’s position regionally and globally, by following a comprehensive strategy to improve the educational system in the university.

The university director stressed that international academic accreditations are of utmost importance at the university due to their role in ensuring and confirming the excellence of the programs offered by the various colleges, attracting distinguished students and academic staff members, in addition to enhancing the process of developing curricula on an ongoing basis. These accreditations also confirm the colleges’ keenness to provide students with With practical and scientific skills to pave their way, whether in working life after graduation or in the field of postgraduate studies and scientific research.

For his part, Professor Dr. Ahmed Hamdan, Dean of the College of Dentistry, said that the Bachelor of Dental Surgery program at the University of Sharjah is distinguished by the quality of the educational outcomes that are built according to clinical practice in various dental specialties, and the training of students is supervised by an elite group of doctors and researchers in all fields of dentistry. He stressed that the international accreditation of the bachelor’s program reflects the quality of education, enhances the program’s position globally and attracts the best expertise from various prestigious universities, and fulfills its role in serving the UAE community by graduating dentists equipped with the best scientific and practical skills to have an effective role in maintaining the oral and dental health of community members.

He added that in conjunction with this achievement, the excellence program for training dentists at the college was fully accredited by the National Institute for Health Specialties in the United Arab Emirates for a period of five years as well, after a field visit conducted by a committee of specialized doctors and confirmation of the program’s commitment to excellence. Education in dentistry and meeting high professional standards. This accreditation also serves as a testimony to the distinguished quality provided by the program for training graduate dentists, and enhances the program’s position in preparing distinguished dentists by building their personal and professional skills.

It is noteworthy that the College of Dentistry at the University of Sharjah has received initial accreditation from the Ministry of Education for its doctoral program in dentistry, and studies will begin next September. The college is also currently offering a master’s program in five specializations: orthodontics, surgery, periodontal treatment, root canal treatment, and prosthodontics. Dentistry, and the college will offer a master’s program in pediatric dentistry after obtaining the accreditation of the Ministry of Education. The college provides high-quality education and practical training for master’s students and for bachelor’s and internship doctors so that they obtain the necessary experience to obtain a license to practice the profession in the United Arab Emirates.
