Fire at Surrey Carlton Apartments in Spring Valley, Rockland County, reignites after injuring 2 people, including a firefighter
SPRING VALLEY, Rockland County (WABC) — Firefighters were still on the scene Tuesday morning of a fire at an apartment complex in Rockland County.
The fire started at 9:30 pm Monday at the Surrey Carlton Apartments, just off Ewing Avenue in Spring Valley.
It reignited overnight, and NewsCopter 7 flew over the area early Tuesday morning after crews had to put out the flames again.
Two people were injured in the fire, including a firefighter who was hit by falling debris and a woman who was found unconscious and rescued by residents.
Their injuries were said to be non-life threatening.
The fire caused serious damage to at least 20 homes.
Fire investigators were working to determine the cause.
