- Currently, the writers are trying to figure out the story.
While ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ seemed to provide a natural summary of Tom Holland’s tenure as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, it also offered plenty of promising stories going forward, and its incredible $260 million opening weekend dollars (and 1 billion global haul) meant his portrayal of Spidey was unlikely to go away.
The only sticking point might have been that Holland himself wanted to move on, but now, talking to deadline At this year’s Sands International Film Festival (where he was also promoting a short film directed by his brother in which he appears), he made it clear that he still wants to put on the suit when called upon to do so.
This is what he said:
“The simple answer is that I will always want to make Spider-Man movies. I owe my life and my career to Spider-Man. So the simple answer is yes. “I will always want to do more.”
And that’s not all he said…
Tom Holland talks about a possible fourth Spider-Man movie
We all know that Marvel and Sony are looking to keep the Spidey movie train moving forward and that a fourth movie is in development.
But Holland, whose success in the role has led him to become more involved behind the scenes, is clear that they don’t want to simply release a new entry because it could make money.
This was his comment on the matter:
“We have the best in the business working to achieve any story. But until we figure it out, we have a legacy to protect. The third movie was so special in so many ways that we need to make sure we do the right thing. This is the first time in this process that I am part of the creativity so early. It’s just a process where I observe and learn. It’s just a very fun stage for me. Like I said, everyone wants this to happen. But we want to make sure we don’t overdo the same things.”
