The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council stresses the importance of joint work to promote the values ​​of peace and confront challenges

Banjul – Chigambia, May 5 / WAM / His Excellency Jassim Mohammed Al Budawi, Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, stressed the importance of the role of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation as two effective forces to confront the multiple crises witnessed in the region and the entire world.

During his participation in the 15th session of the Islamic Summit Conference, hosted by the Gambian capital, Banjul, Al-Budaiwi pointed out the necessity of joint action to confront challenges and promote the values ​​of peace and prosperity, especially mentioning what the Gaza Strip is currently exposed to.

He pointed to the great challenges that threaten security and stability, especially in light of the escalating crises in the Middle East as a result of the repercussions of the situation in Palestine and Gaza, which calls for renewed commitment to collective and responsible action to support the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights.

He reiterated his emphasis on the important role that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation must play in supporting peace and development efforts, as well as in confronting extremism and terrorism that threaten regional and international security, stressing the importance of the call made by the Ministerial Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council, during its forty-fourth special session, calling for holding an international conference that enhances stability. Regional and international security.
