Amna: 707 thousand square meters recovered after removing 2,297 illegal buildings and 2,316 acres

Major General Hisham Amna, Minister of Local Development, reviewed a report from the Ministry’s Operations and Crisis Management Room on the efforts achieved by the governorates since the start of the work of the third phase of the 22nd wave to remove encroachments on state property and agricultural lands so far, which began last April 20 and ends on This May 9, as part of the state’s efforts to firmly address cases of encroachment on state property and agricultural land and remove them immediately to impose their prestige, enforce the law, and continuously follow up on the removal operations and confront the phenomenon of depletion and encroachment on agricultural land  in all parts of the governorates.

This comes in implementation of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to preserve state property, remove encroachments on it, impose the state’s prestige on its lands, and implement the law, and assign the Prime Minister to coordinate with the Supreme Committee for Land Recovery headed by Major General Hassan Abdel Shafi, Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic, To take deterrent measures against anyone who tempts to tamper with state property, and to continuously follow up on removal operations and stop encroachments at the level of all governorates.

 

Major General Hisham Amna announced that the total number of buildings that were completed Removal of state property after two weeks of the third phase of the 22nd wave reached 2,297 buildings on an area of ​​707 thousand square meters in all governorates, indicating that the executive agencies in the governorates removed 890 cases of encroachment on agricultural land, state property on an area of ​​2,316 acres, in addition to… 100 cases of fish farming, with an area of ​​500 acres, were removed in Port Said Governorate.

 

Major General Hisham Amna confirmed that operations to remove encroachments on state property and agricultural lands will continue to intensify during the third phase of the wave. 22 of removing violations, especially during holidays and official state holidays, and taking legal measures against violators, noting that there is coordination between the governorates, all executive agencies, security directorates, and law enforcement forces to implement the target of the current wave with all decisiveness and without complacency in restoring the state’s right and confronting any form of Violations.

 

The report that was presented to Major General Hisham Amna indicated that the governorates that most removed cases of illegal buildings were the governorate of Sharqia, where the governorate recovered 48.5 thousand square meters. square meters after removing 376 cases of violating buildings, then Qena Governorate, where it succeeded in recovering 42 thousand square meters after removing 131 cases of violating buildings, followed by Giza Governorate, where it recovered 39.2 thousand square meters after removing 77 cases, and Aswan Governorate 36.4 thousand square meters. After removing 116 cases of violating buildings, while the most successful governorate in recovering agricultural land was New Valley Governorate, where the efforts of the executive agencies succeeded in recovering 1,737 acres of land with a total of 14 encroachment cases, followed by Al-Sharqiya Governorate, which recovered 183 acres with a total of 119 encroachment cases.

 

The Minister of Local Development stressed that the state, with all its relevant agencies, is firmly responding to cases of encroachment on agricultural lands and state property, stopping violating construction, imposing the prestige of the law, continuously following up on removal operations, stopping the depletion of agricultural land and preserving it. Stressing that the continued follow-up by the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister of the issue of removing encroachments on state property and agricultural lands gives great impetus to the efforts of the governorates, law enforcement forces, and security directorates in all governorates to implement the law firmly. 

 

Major General Hisham Amna added that the Ministry is following up on the implementation of the timetable prepared by each governorate to remove encroachments in coordination with the state authorities on the lands and the relevant agencies, with continuous follow-up by the executive agencies to prevent encroachment on the recovered lands again, indicating that the Ministry’s Operations Room is following up Every day, in coordination with the governorate operations rooms, the implementation of the removal decisions targeted by the 22nd wave is underway, and it is working to overcome any difficulties or obstacles that obstruct the implementation processes, so that periodic reports can be submitted to the Prime Minister on the results that are achieved in this regard.

 

The Minister of Local Development praised the efforts made by the governors, the executive leadership, and all concerned agencies in the governorates during the implementation of the work of the third phase of the 22nd wave. 

 

It is worth noting.. that the 22nd wave of removal campaigns is being implemented in 3 successive stages, as it began with the first stage and was implemented in the period from January 27 until February 16, 2024, followed by the second stage in the period from last February 24 until March 15 of the month. The last, and concludes with the third and final phase, which began on April 20 and ends on May 9.
