Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khalid: The decision to unify the armed forces is a historic step that strengthened the nation’s gains
Abu Dhabi, May 5 / WAM / His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Wajib Voluntary Society, confirmed that the decision to unify the armed forces was a historic step to strengthen the nation’s gains and defend its protectors, and to be an aid and support to the brother and friend.
In a speech on this occasion, His Excellency said that the 48th anniversary of the unification of the UAE Armed Forces embodies one of our precious national days, and also expresses the glory and civilization that have become a symbol of our unity, cohesion, and strength of will. It is a precious occasion in which we remember the heroism and sacrifices of our honorable martyred sons.
His Excellency pointed to the appreciation our armed forces enjoy from the international community, for their humanitarian missions and their vital role in distributing aid and aid in affected countries, regions, and afflicted communities.
He stressed that the sixth of May every year is a bright day in the history of the Emirates, expressing his pride in the level of readiness and high performance our armed forces have achieved, so that we may enjoy, thanks to God Almighty, security, well-being and prosperity.
His Excellency concluded his statement by saying: I extend my greetings of reverence and admiration to the first generation of members of our armed forces who shouldered the responsibility honestly and sincerely during the founding phase, and to all the leaders, officers and individuals affiliated with this ancient institution, who continue the journey and contribute to performing the sublime mission to the fullest, drawing on determination and sacrifices. From His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, “may God protect him.”
