Minister of Endowments: The president’s era is the golden era of women’s empowerment

6 women in the Endowments received the First Class Medal of Sciences and Arts during the Sisi era, including two certified preachers

Professor Dr. Muhammad Mukhtar Gomaa, Minister of Endowments, opened the opening session of the first conference for female preachers today, Sunday, May 5, 2024 AD, entitled: “Qualifying female preachers and their role in the field of advocacy and community service.” At the International Endowments Academy in 6th of October City.

During his speech, Prof. Dr. Mohamed Mukhtar Gomaa, Minister of Endowments, confirmed that this is a notable day from the days of the Egyptian state, and from the days of the Ministry of Endowments. With this busy gathering of the first conference for women preachers nationally, Arably, Islamically and internationally, we are facing a unique experience in its field nationally, Arably, Islamically and internationally, and this comes, thanks to God Almighty, within the framework of the Egyptian state’s vision of empowering women in various fields, stressing that our need to form this large elite The great female preachers worked hard to fill a huge void in the field of women’s advocacy, whether in relation to women’s issues, or in relation to raising children, especially girls, or in relation to supervising and controlling women’s prayer rooms in mosques.

The Minister of Endowments stressed that their role is no less important than the role of their fellow imams. Just as their fellow imams have tightened control over the mosques, we urgently need to tighten control over the women’s prayer rooms, which the imam may not be able to control sufficiently. The matter will be easier for the female preacher. Female preachers also played their role in tightening control over the women’s prayer halls until all mosques surrendered to the moderate approach.

Noting that This conference comes when the number of female preachers in the Endowments alone has approached 700 female preachers, including about 40 female faculty members in Egyptian universities, especially Al-Azhar University, and the number of those who have obtained doctorates from other than faculty members is 42 female preachers, which means that about 80 female preachers have obtained degrees. Doctorate accredited by Al-Azhar University or any of the Egyptian universities accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education, while more than 30 other female preachers obtained master’s degrees. The beautiful thing about that is that they obtained doctorates in different specializations, not only in purely religious specializations, but some of them obtained doctorates. Doctorate degrees in economics, philosophy, psychology, or cultural disciplines, in addition to the proficiency of a large number of them in one of the foreign languages, English, French, or other. In the “Know the Destiny of Your Prophet” competition, The research that won first place in the research submitted in the English language was by a female preacher from the Endowments.

As for the issue of continuous training and qualification, it is our approach and will remain. God willing, the number of those who took the integrated course at the Endowments Academy, which lasts for 6 months, is 70 female preachers, and in the new batch that we announced the launch of, 70 other female preachers applied for this course, and the Thought Pioneers Course was attended by 30 female preachers, and we are preparing for a new joint course between the female endowment preachers and female preachers. Al-Azhar Al-Sharif and the secretaries of fatwa in the Egyptian Fatwa House, noting that the previous thought pioneer courses were also shared between the female preachers of Al-Azhar and the Endowments and the secretaries of fatwa in the Egyptian Fatwa House. These courses are at the highest religious and cultural level and with the participation of some professors in protocols, ceremonies, psychology, and everything related to modern culture, and a number Those who took the course held by the Endowments in cooperation with the Nasser Higher Military Academy amounted to 127 female preachers, and the number of female preachers who obtained ICDL certificates from the Computer Center reached 78 female preachers. As for the very advanced courses, such as the media skills course, which was held in partnership with the Ministry of Higher Education or through cooperation with the College Media at Cairo University or the National Media Authority in its studios. The number of female preachers has reached 60, and 18 female preachers have also participated in international courses such as the Course for Male and Female Imams Preachers in Sudan, and the Course for Male and Female Imams and Preachers in Burkina Faso, in addition to general and specialized educational courses on the rulings on fasting and understanding objectives. They raise awareness of Hajj rituals, inheritance, the dangers of atheism, the Arabic language, and others. They also play a major role in consolidating the pillars of citizenship through the Women Preachers and Nuns program, which is held in cooperation with Egyptian churches in Egypt, as well as community activities that are held in coordination with the National Council for Women, which is an experience. It is great and deserves to be highlighted.

The Minister of Endowments confirmed that this is the first conference held for female preachers at the national level, but this experience It deserves to be conveyed to the world through the first conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs for preaching, which will be held at the end of next August, God willing, on a major international level.

Stressing that the Ministry of Endowments has 17 female leaders at the helm of leadership work, and that the number of women who have been honored in the Ministry of Endowments over the course of 130 years is only two women, while 6 women have been honored in the last ten years during the era of President Abdullah Al-Fattah Al-Sisi (may God protect him), where they received the highest medal given to senior scholars, which is the First Class Medal of Sciences and Arts. This comes within the framework of the interest of the Egyptian state and the interest of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi in honoring women.
