The Chinese President begins a state visit to France

Paris, 5 May / WAM / Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in France today on a state visit aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

In a written speech upon his arrival, President Xi praised Sino-French relations as “a model of peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation between countries with different systems.”

He stressed that the relations between the two countries have been at the forefront of China’s relations with major Western countries over the past sixty years, setting a good example for the international community.

Xi expressed China’s readiness to strengthen traditional friendship with France, enhance political mutual trust, build strategic consensus, and deepen exchanges and cooperation in various fields.

He pointed out that the development of Sino-French relations not only benefits the peoples of the two countries, but also supports stability and positive energy in a turbulent world.
