Dubai, May 6 / WAM / Mohammed Abdullah Al Zaabi, CEO of Miral Group, expects that the tourism sector will witness further growth and prosperity in the UAE in general and Abu Dhabi in particular, noting that the capital seeks to achieve new levels of quality and excellence in the sector. , which enhances its position as one of the most important and leading tourist destinations in the world.

Al Zaabi said in statements to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the activities of the first day of the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, that the UAE always seeks to diversify and develop its tourism experiences in a way that suits all social and age groups by focusing on cultural and recreational tourism, and launching new and innovative experiences for visitors. Pointing out that “Miral” is working to provide new entertainment and cultural destinations that enhance visitors’ experiences and provide additional value that directly contributes to achieving more tourism growth and economic diversification in Abu Dhabi.

He stressed Miral’s endeavor to provide world-class experiences and destinations aimed at continuing to drive continuous economic growth in Abu Dhabi and the UAE, which contributes to enhancing tourism revenues and creating more job opportunities, in line with the new Abu Dhabi Tourism Strategy 2030, which aims to increase the number of visitors to the emirate. To 39.3 million visitors, creating 178 thousand new job opportunities, and increasing the tourism sector’s contribution to the UAE’s gross domestic product to 90 billion dirhams annually by 2030.

He stated that the upcoming attractions on Saadiyat Island include the TeamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi project in cooperation with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, which is a multi-sensory artistic experience in the Saadiyat Cultural District, which will soon welcome visitors by providing inspiring spaces where art meets technology to spark curiosity and imagination. And the creativity of all visitors, in addition to the Natural History Museum in Abu Dhabi, which is expected to be the largest of its kind in the region.

Regarding the expansion plans for the current entertainment cities on Yas Island, Al Zaabi said that the island will witness many new development projects, including the expansion of “Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi” with an additional area of ​​16,900 square meters, which will include an addition of about 3.3 kilometers of new slides scheduled to be completed in the year. 2025, in addition to “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter”, which is the Harry Potter entertainment area in “Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi”, in addition to the development of a 560-meter-long beach destination, to form a new addition to the entertainment experiences at Yas Bay Waterfront.

Al Zaabi expected that Yas Island will continue to attract more visitors during the current year after it recorded more than 34 million visits last year, an increase of 38% compared to 2022, which recorded 24.9 million visits, noting that visits from the Gulf Cooperation Council countries recorded a remarkable growth by 125% in 2023 compared to the previous year.

Theme parks across the island also saw a significant 167% increase in international visits, particularly from visitors and tourists from India, the UK, Russia and Germany.
