Fashion’s biggest night is here. Dozens of the most stylish stars will descend on the Met steps on Monday night for the 2024 Met Gala, celebrating the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute’s new exhibit  “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”

This year’s dress code is “The Garden of Time,” inspired by J.G. Ballard’s 1962 short story of the same name. The exhibit, which opened for press previews on Monday morning, features approximately 250 rare items drawn from the Institute’s permanent collection. Spanning over 400 years of fashion history, the pieces include designs by Schiaparelli, Dior, Givenchy, and more.

The 2024 Met Gala hosts are Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny and Chris Hemsworth. For the most part, however, the 450-plus person guest list is kept completely under wraps. That being said, stars such as repeat attendees Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Blake Lively, Bradley Cooper, Billy Porter and others can be expected to be in attendance.

Of course, for those tuning in from home, the most exciting part of the night is the red carpet, during which the attendees make their grand entrance and debut their themed looks. It’s also the only part of the night that is broadcast to the public. Once the attendees enter the museum for the dinner and performance, pictures and video are strictly prohibited.

The best way to catch the red carpet arrivals online is on “Live from E!: 2024 Met Gala,” which airs on May 6 on E! from 3 p.m. PT/6 p.m. ET to 6:30 p.m. PT/9:30 p.m. ET. Those without cable can access E!’s coverage on a variety of live TV streamers such as DirecTV, Fubo, Hulu + Live TV and Sling.

The entire 2024 Met Gala red carpet will also be available on Vogue’s TikTok and Youtube channel live streams, hosted by Gwendoline Christie, La La Anthony and Ashley Graham. Emma Chamberlain returns as the Conde Nast publication’s special correspondent.

On Monday morning, after more than a year of talks, Condé Nast management inked an employment pact with hundreds of union workers at Vogue and other publications — heading off a strike that threatened to disrupt Monday night’s gala. Before the two sides reached an agreement on the terms of a new contract early Monday morning, Condé Union leaders had explicitly threatened to stage a picket line at the 2024 Met Gala. That would have presented the prospect of celebrities having to cross the picket line to get into the event. “We’re doing whatever it takes: Meet us at the table or meet us at the Met on Monday,” the union said in a post on X Saturday.
