African Representatives: The occupation’s control over Palestinian Rafah is a blatant violation of international laws, customs and conventions

Rep. Dr. Nevin Hamdi, member of the African Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives, member of the parliamentary body for the Hamat al-Watan Party, denounced the Israeli government’s announcement of its control over the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing, stressing that these operations and the dangerous escalation by the occupation forces against our brothers Unarmed civilians represent a flagrant violation of international laws, customs and conventions and a threat to peace and security in the entire region.

 

 

A member of the African Affairs Committee in the House of Representatives said, In a statement today, the Palestinian Rafah crossing is a major lifeline for the brothers in the Gaza Strip, and is also a safe outlet for the wounded and sick to exit to receive treatment, and for humanitarian and relief aid to enter for them, stressing the inevitability of an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, Israel ending its hostilities, and empowering the people of Gaza. The sector can obtain humanitarian and relief aid, safely and without obstacles, and create a political horizon for the Palestinian issue, enabling the implementation of the two-state solution, in addition to the necessity of providing them with protection under international law and international humanitarian law.

 

 

 

 

 

The member of the parliamentary body from the Hamat al-Watan Party called on all influential international parties to intervene and exert the necessary pressure to defuse the current crisis, and provide the opportunity for Egyptian diplomatic efforts to achieve their desired results. She also called on the Israeli side to exercise The maximum degree of self-restraint, and staying away from the policy of brinksmanship with long-term impact, which would threaten the fate of the strenuous efforts made to reach a sustainable truce inside the Gaza Strip.

 

The representative stressed Nevin Hamdi, on the importance of Egyptian appeals and demands for the Israeli side to exercise the utmost levels of restraint, and to avoid further escalation at this extremely sensitive time in the course of the ceasefire negotiations, and to spare the blood of Palestinian civilians who are exposed to an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe since the start of the war on the Gaza Strip, his demands. The Security Council and the international community must intervene urgently to stop this war before new real inhuman disasters occur, the consequences and repercussions of which will be borne by the entire world, in addition to the necessity of finding an immediate solution to allow aid and relief to reach the people of Gaza, given the blatant violations they are exposed to that expose them to more danger and loss of life.

 

 

Nevin Hamdi warned of the continuation of collective punishment operations and the resulting complete cessation of the entry of humanitarian and relief aid into the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing as a result of The occupation forces control it today, stressing that this escalation, which hinders the entry of aid and fuel supplies into the Strip, will stop the critical humanitarian response throughout the Strip, calling for the necessity of ending these dangerous conditions and allowing the entry of aid, especially in light of the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.

 

 

Nevin Hamdi concluded her statement by emphasizing that dialogue and negotiation are the only way to achieve stability and just peace between the two sides, and the international community must cooperate to support this. The process and provide appropriate conditions for resolving the existing conflict and establishing an independent, sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
