Crows explain bizarre sight at training session

Adelaide Crows have insisted their sole focus remains on their upcoming match against the Brisbane Lions, despite a giant screen at training showcasing last week’s Showdown.

Crows defender Chayce Jones said the viewing was a “bit of education for the boys” and focused on more than just the game’s highlights.

“There’s not many highlights up there, there’s a lot of stuff we’re using during the week, and making sure they’re translating into games,” Jones said.

Adelaide is desperate to beat the Lions this weekend, who have been ravaged by injury, with Lincoln McCarthy and Darcy Gardiner both suffering from torn ACLs.

But Jones refuted suggestions the Lions were no longer at the top of the food chain.

“They played in a grand final last year, so they’re a strong side, a strong footy club, so I don’t think there’s ever a good time to get anyone,” he said.

Jones said he was looking forward to playing the tough opponents.

“I think it’s so exciting, you want to play in the big games, want to play toughest opponents, so I think that’s one of the things we’re looking forward to.”
