Polish Intelligence Warns of Russia’s Readiness for “Mini-Operations” Against NATO Head of Polish Military Counterintelligence, General Strozyk: Putin Prepared for Mini-Operation Against NATO

The head of Poland’s military counterintelligence, General Jaroslaw Strozyk, believes that Vladimir Putin is prepared to execute a “mini-operation” against one of the NATO countries. His remarks were reported by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna.

“Putin is, of course, already prepared for some mini-operation against one of the Baltic states, for example, to enter the famous Narva. Or – to land on one of the Swedish islands,” Strozyk said.

He stated that Moscow is deterred from such action by the West’s support for Ukraine, and in the event of a potential attack, NATO’s response “would be even greater.”

At the same time, he noted that all forecasts regarding Russia’s readiness for an alleged attack on NATO “are based only on certain assumptions.”

Prior to this, The Wall Street Journal reported that NATO planners consider a direct invasion by Russia into a member country of the alliance in the near future as unlikely. It is noted that a serious disagreement within NATO is considered to be the difference in views of member countries on threats. According to the American newspaper, NATO indicates that terrorism and Russia pose the main threats, but many officials from Turkey and other Mediterranean-bordering member countries are more concerned about regional conflicts and illegal migration than the Russian threat.
