‘Wednesday’ begins work on season 2

People like Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán are now series regulars.

With such a huge reaction to the first season of Wednesday’s ‘Addams Family’ spin-off drama, you can imagine Netflix’s frustration at not being able to strike while the pop culture iron is at its hottest, with the strikes by writers and actors ending a possible filming in 2023.

But, after a location change to Ireland, the show is finally back on track and cameras are now rolling on season 2, as revealed by a hilarious video showing Thing’s disembodied hand handing out scripts…

And the start of production isn’t the only news coming out of the show today, as after Steve Buscemi joined the cast, the streaming service revealed a series of casting announcements.

Who returns for the second season of ‘Wednesday’?

In addition to returning regulars like Jenna Ortega, Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Hunter Doohan, Victor Dorobantu and Moosa Mostafa, some cast members from the first season have been upgraded to regular status, including Addams Family members Catherine Zeta -Jones (Morticia), Luis Guzmán (Gómez) and Isaac Ordóñez (Pugsley).

Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo will now also be incumbent as MP Ritchie Santiago.

Who are the new faces of the second season of ‘Wednesday’?

The show has announced a slew of new regulars, joining Buscemi in that stratum of the cast.

Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter and Noah Taylor are all on board.

And then we have the new guest stars, including the likes of Christopher Lloyd, who has his own connection to the ‘Addams Family’, having played Uncle Fester in both ‘Addams’ films. But with Fred Armisen already established as Fester in ‘Wednesday’, we’ll have to wait and see who he plays.

Elsewhere, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment and Heather Matarazzo are on board, along with Joonas Suotamo (whose face you may not know as well, since he spends most of his time wearing a costume Wookiee for ‘Star Wars’ Shows and Movies.

Here’s what ‘Wednesday’ showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar had to say about the new cast:

“We’re thrilled to have the entire Addams Family enrolled in Nevermore Academy this season along with a dream cast of icons and new faces.”

Tim Burton will return as the main director of the new season alongside Paco Cabezas and Angela Robins.

When will season 2 of ‘Wednesday’ be on Netflix?

The streaming service hasn’t yet revealed when the show will return to its servers, but we’re guessing it will be as soon as (in)humanly possible, given that ‘Wednesday’ is the most popular English-language TV series on Netflix with 252.10 million views. views of season 1. .
