Within the Decent Life Initiative, universities will launch 90 medical convoys during 2023

Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, affirmed the ministry’s keenness to participate in the “Decent Life” initiative, in its efforts to develop society and raise the quality of life, pointing out the continuous work to activate the role of universities and higher education institutions in serving the surrounding environment, and achieving integration between… Academic, industrial and service institutions face the challenges of economic and societal development facing every geographical region.

The Minister referred to the protocol signed between the Supreme Council of Universities and the “Decent Life” Foundation. ;, with the aim of raising the educational, health, economic, and social levels of the most needy families across the Republic, alleviating the burden on citizens, increasing the number of medical, veterinary, and agricultural convoys, and providing awareness and educational services on various social and health issues for citizens.

In this context, Dr. Mustafa Refaat, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, explained that during the period (January – December 2023), 90 medical convoys were organized with the participation of 27 government universities. and Al-Azhar, and the number of beneficiary cases reached (71,959).

Universities also implemented many awareness and service activities as part of participation in the presidential initiative, which included; Organizing seminars to participate in the initiative, carrying out student visits to “A Decent Life” projects, awareness-raising convoys, and the participation of social leaders in the initiative, organizing seminars to enhance the volunteer work efforts of university youth in the initiative’s projects, and introducing the achievements made by “A Decent Life,” as well as Raising awareness of the national and development projects undertaken by the state.

In a related context; A number of seminars and lectures were presented within the framework of intensifying efforts to educate young people about the importance of volunteer work, and the establishment of student families In universities, they participated in public and religious events, and implemented sub-initiatives that carry the goals and principles of “a decent life.” The number of students participating in the activities reached more than 55 thousand students from various universities.
