The Polish border service announced the detention of a Russian deserter

The Polish border service detained a 41-year-old Russian man who, according to the department, illegally crossed the border from the Belarusian side. The name of the detainee has not been reported. Border guards called tuj a deserter.

According to the RMF publication, the detainee was found to have a contract with the Russian army. He fled the war against Ukraine, but was unarmed and in civilian clothes.

Journalists notethat the detainee was trying to use the migration channel used by refugees from the countries of the Middle East and Asia and of which Warsaw accuses the Belarusian authorities of creating.

It is unknown whether the Russian applied for international protection in Poland.

The Russian embassy in Poland reported that they had not received information from the authorities about the detention of a military man, conveys TASS.
