Youth and leaders of the Egyptian Democratic Party organize an open sit-in in the party to protest the administration’s policies
A source from within the Egyptian Social Democratic Party revealed that a press conference will be held tomorrow, Thursday, at exactly six o’clock at the party’s headquarters, in order to clarify all the details of the protesters and their requests and to respond to all inquiries, in the presence of a number of members of the party’s supreme body and political bureau. And the governorate secretaries and a number of members of the governorate office bodies.
A group of youth and leaders of the Egyptian Democratic Party had organized an open sit-in within the party in protest against the policies of the party administration towards members, and its dismissal of some Members unjustly and illegally.
The source said that the sit-in is a result of the accumulations that began two years ago, following the General Conference, which began dismissing party members without investigation and verbally just for the sake of They demanded that they be investigated in writing so that the matter becomes legal, which was completely rejected by the party, explaining that the governorate secretaries discovered the existence of fake memberships restricted to them, with no origin or evidence and whose owners are unknown, or how they are included in the party’s lists is known, or Who did this, and the fictitious memberships in one of the governorates reached 560 memberships, and the governorate secretary knows nothing about them.
He continued that a delegation representing the secretariats of the protested governorates received Professor Farid Zahran at the headquarters sit-in" The central headquarters of the party, to discuss the demands of the protestors, where all the secretaries of the protestors and participating colleagues presented more than one logical solution on our part to heal the rift and end the sit-in whenever possible, pointing out that after discussions and deliberation, all the secretaries of the protested governorates saw that the discussion session failed and did not lead us to solutions.
