Dave Portnoy fumes after not being invited to the Tom Brady roast with his Barstool employees there: ‘No one even told me it was f***ing happening’

A fuming Dave Portnoy believes he may have ‘overestimated’ himself after not being invited to the Tom Brady roast.

Brady was roasted by a selection of celebrities, comedians and his ex-teammates as part of a live Netflix special on Sunday, while legendary New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick even took a turn in ripping into his former quarterback.

A number of high-profile figures were also invited to the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, to watch the roasting take place – but Portnoy failed to make the cut.

After finding out that some of his employees were invited to the event, the Barstool Sports chief told Josh Richards and Bri LaPaglia on their ‘BFFs’ podcast: ‘Why would Netflix invite you over me? No offense to anyone basically in the world.

‘I legit probably had more information on Brady than anyone on that panel, I’m friends with everybody on that panel.

‘No one even told me it was f***ing happening.’

As well as Richards and LaPaglia, Barstool personalities John Feitelberg, known as Feits, and Grace O’Malley were also invited to the Brady roast.

For Portnoy, a long-time Patriots fan, the snub has come as a huge reality check. 

‘I thought I was a little bit of a bigger star than I am. Clearly, I overestimated myself,’ he admitted. ‘Everyone in the sun made it to that event. I didn’t even get a “Hey, we’re doing it.”

‘You know how I saw it? I went on Netflix to find a movie, and then I just took it in. No idea it was coming.’

Brady was brutally mocked throughout the evening over his divorce with ex-wife Gisele Bundchen, who was reportedly left unhappy with the frequent jibes about their marriage coming to an end.

The NFL legend was also subjected to jokes about Birmingham City, the English soccer team he co-owns, being relegated last week, among several other topics.

And despite being left out, Portnoy enjoyed watching it play out. 

‘That was fantastic,’ he added. ‘Outside of the fact that half my company was there and got invited apparently, except me, which is strange because I went to jail for him, I’ve met him, I’ve been to the parties. 

‘Our entire company was based around the Patriots’ reign. I was there when he came back with Tampa Bay, a lot of other things, but other than that it was great.’
