Minister of Commerce of Guinea: We look forward to attracting UAE investments to the agricultural and mining sectors

Abu Dhabi, 9 May / WAM / Her Excellency Diaka Sidibe, Minister of Trade, Industry and Small and Medium Enterprises of the Republic of Guinea, expressed her country’s aspiration to attract investments from the United Arab Emirates in various economic sectors in Guinea, especially agriculture and mining.

In an interview with the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the third day of the AIM Investment Summit held in Abu Dhabi, Her Excellency said that her country is replete with many investment opportunities in various sectors, noting that the Investment Summit is a cooperation platform for exchanging expertise and experiences, and highlighting… Highlight investment opportunities in Guinea.

She stressed the importance of participating in the “AIM Investment Summit” to highlight Guinea’s potential in the field of investment and trade, encourage foreign direct investments, and increase the contribution of small and medium enterprises to the ecosystem, especially in the sustainability of the Guinean economy.

She explained that her country has been participating in this summit for years and is looking forward to greater participation in the next edition in 2025, noting that its participation this year is in order to highlight the opportunities and incentives set by the government of the Republic of Guinea to enhance an encouraging and attractive work environment for foreign investors.

She pointed out that Guinea currently has an investment law that promotes the establishment and growth of energy, agricultural and mining companies, in addition to reductions in taxes and customs, which is an attractive step for foreign investors to establish their businesses in the Republic of Guinea.

Regarding the relations between the UAE and Guinea, Diaka said: There are wonderful cooperation relations between the two countries, and we look forward to further development and growth in the coming years, especially as we aspire to attract Emirati and foreign investors in general to invest in Guinea with the improvement of the business environment and the strengthening of the economic framework and making it more stable.

The Minister pointed out that participation in the Investment Summit in Abu Dhabi will undoubtedly contribute to achieving tangible results and attracting Emirati investors to the Republic of Guinea to discover our wealth, capabilities and culture.

Diaka stressed that Guinea has great potential in the agricultural field, with its possession of approximately 7 billion hectares of arable land, which will enhance and support agricultural transformation in our country in addition to supporting the food and agricultural industries.

She pointed out that Guinea also has huge potential in the mining field, as it has two-thirds of the global demand for mining, in addition to the largest iron warehouse in the world, in addition to gold and diamonds, and therefore these sectors are an investment opportunity for the Emirates, pointing out that her country also has huge potential. In hydroelectric power through about 1,700 listed rivers in Guinea.
