44,653 The number of insured citizens in Dubai who subscribed under the umbrella "Pensions" by 35%

Abu Dhabi, 10 May / WAM / Data from the General Pensions and Social Security Authority showed that the insured citizens in the Emirate of Dubai and subscribers under the umbrella of the General Pensions Authority number about 44,653 subscribers, representing 35% of the Authority’s 127,799 thousand subscribers.

According to the Authority’s data, subscribers in the emirate are distributed among federal and local government agencies, in addition to workers in the private sector, which accounts for the largest number, with about 19,712 subscribers, followed by workers in the local government sector with about 19,392 subscribers, and finally workers in the federal sector, which includes 5,549 subscribers.

In this context, the Umm Suqeim Council in the Emirate of Dubai hosted the “Mobile Pensions Council”, where the session targeted human resources departments and employees of local departments of the Dubai government with the aim of introducing them to the laws applied by the General Authority for Pensions and Social Security, which include civil employees working in the local or federal government sector. in the emirate, in addition to insured employees working in the private sector in the emirate.

The session was presented and moderated by Dr. Maysaa Rashid Ghadeer, Director of the Authority’s Government Communications Office, in the presence of Mohammed Saqr Al Hammadi, Director of the Pensions Operations Department, one of the Authority’s accredited lecturers to introduce federal pension laws, along with a number of the Authority’s leaders and employees in various sectors to provide the necessary support to attendees and answer their inquiries. Related to the laws and services provided by the Authority.

Dr. Maysaa Rashid Ghadeer stressed the importance of these councils, which give the Authority an opportunity to meet employers and their employees and transfer knowledge to them about the provisions of pension laws and other projects that arise within the scope of the Authority’s work from time to time, pointing to the role of the councils in enhancing two-way communication with all stakeholders. The segments covered by the law, and discussing issues and proposals that serve the parties to the insurance relationship, especially since the Authority believes in the role and importance of the public in improving the customer experience as it is the first user.

During the council, the awareness efforts undertaken by the Pensions Authority were highlighted in order to enhance insurance awareness among employers and groups covered by the law, the most important of which are establishing mobile councils, holding workshops, launching awareness campaigns, raising awareness through the mass media and social networking sites, and launching awareness initiatives such as “Maashi” podcast, “Our Stories” competition, and others.

Regarding the laws, the laws applied by the Authority were introduced, which are Federal Law No. 7 of 1999 regarding pensions and social insurance, and Law No. (57) of 2023 regarding pensions and social insurance, in addition to the most important insurance benefits included in the pension laws, the most important of which are the retirement pension, its eligibility conditions, and the end-of-life bonus. The service, its terms, compensation, and eligibility conditions.

The most prominent services provided by the pension laws were also reviewed, the most important of which are the annexation and purchase services, the definition of the provisions of each and how to calculate, and awareness of the “Shork” service, in addition to the service of disbursing insurance benefits at the end of service, the procedures followed in this framework, and the period specified for completing the services.

The Authority was known for the proactive services it provides, the most important of which is the service of issuing retirement certificates and the data updating service. It was also known for the other channels for obtaining services, including the website, service centers and locations where they are available, and the Authority’s accounts on social media sites, calling on attendees to follow them to learn about the Authority’s latest developments and projects.

At the conclusion of the council, the Authority allowed the attendees to submit and raise questions about specific issues and cases regarding calculating the retirement pension, the cost of adding service and other inquiries, which were answered and the necessary support was provided through specialized employees in the pensions sector.

It is noteworthy that the Mobile Pensions Council is one of the Authority’s initiatives that aims to raise awareness of the federal pension laws and the Authority’s services through visits to community councils and government and private institutions to provide the necessary awareness and answer the inquiries of customers (insured persons, retirees, beneficiaries, and business owners).
