Since the Married At First Sight (MAFS) 2025 cast have regained access to their social media accounts, many have been busy answering fan questions and spilling the tea. It seems to have amped up some feuds amongst the cast, with Jacqui Burfoot calling out Awhina Rutene for talking about her.
You see, when Awhina was asked who she’d pair from MAFS 2025, she said she’d match her ex Adrian Araouzou with Jacqui. Considering Adrian has allegedly been acquitted of domestic violence charges, Jacqui wasn’t pleased with this answer.
She shared a screenshot on her Instagram Story, calling the situation “sad” and said she “feel[s] sorry for her”.
“If speaking my truth, standing up for what I believe in and pursuing justice rubs people the wrong way — whatever — it is what it is, I don’t care, that’s none of my business. I genuinely couldn’t care less,” she said. “She’s probably just jealous!”
In an interview with PEDESTRIAN TV, Jacqui revealed that she and Clint Rice have cut Awhina out of their lives for good.
“Clint was closer to her than me and stopped talking to her when she called our relationship ‘fake’ on a radio interview the morning after we got engaged. Then Awhina liked the posts Ryan shared… of our intimate sex life,” Jacqui explained.
“I messaged her about liking these posts and asked her not to support behaviour like this, and she said she can do what she wants.”
Jacqui pointed out that Awhina was hanging out with her ex Ryan Donnelly as well as Adrian and Paul Antoine while the show was airing, so she decided she didn’t want to “waste [her] time with [Awhina]”.
“Clint then called [Awhina] out over text about calling our relationship ‘fake’ and asked her to keep our names out of her mouth. He made the decision to cut her out of our lives because it was distressing me. We blocked [her] months ago,” Jacqui added.
God, the cast are MESSY and I’m living for it. My only hope is that somebody records the moment Awhina and Jacqui are next reunited… maybe for The Logies?!
