The rigorous diet and exercise regime behind Melania Trump’s enviable physique

Melania Trump was a globetrotting supermodel before finding love with future president Donald Trump at a New York Fashion Week party in 1998.

So it’s no surprise that the First Lady, 55, has spent decades following a healthy diet and strict exercise regimen.

Both Pilates and tennis are a core part of Melania’s fitness routine, as the activities are easy to do at home or at Mar-a-Lago.

However, the Slovenian stunner actually owes much of her slender physique to a small tweak she’s made to her daily routine.

According to GQ, Melania wears ankle weights most days, which are said to increase calorie burn anywhere from five to 15 percent.

But it’s really Melania’s diet that is the biggest contributor to her trim figure.

The Vogue cover girl eats seven pieces of fresh fruit each day, with peaches and apples being her two favorites, according to Inside Edition.

Melania also starts her day with a healthy fruit and vegetable smoothie made of ingredients like spinach, carrots, blueberries, apples and fat-free yogurt.

Since entering the world of politics through her husband, Melania has been cagey about her diet secrets, instead preferring to keep the conversation focused on more important topics.

However, a look at the former model’s old social media posts reveals an insight into her daily diet.

Some of her meals included fruit plates, salmon and edamame, and an avocado salad.

One breakfast plate consisted of sliced banana, pineapple, blueberries and raspberries.

Some of her more adventurous meals include mozzarella pomodoro and a grilled fish from The Polo Bar in Beverly Hills.

When it comes to treating herself, Melania likes a Diet Coke (in a glass), a piece of dark chocolate in the afternoon, and a $68 chicken parmigiana from Jean-Georges at the Trump International Hotel & Tower New York.

The natural beauty has denied having plastic surgery and injectables, telling GQ magazine in 2016 that her healthy lifestyle is how she maintains her looks.

‘A lot of people say I am using all the procedures for my face. I didn’t do anything,’ she insisted.

‘I live a healthy life, I take care of my skin and my body,’ she continued.

‘I’m against Botox, I’m against injections – I think it’s damaging your face, damaging your nerves. It’s all me. I will age gracefully, as my mom does.’

Melania has often attracted attention for her sculpted physique, most recently while the opening night of Les Misérables with her husband, President Trump.

David Plasse, owner of New York’s Plasse Strength, suspects that Melania is maintaining her toned arms by doing ‘consistent, full-body strength training,’ most likely with a trainer twice a week.

Due to her ‘lean’ appearance, Plasse believes she could be doing a combination of exercises like dumbbell lateral raises, alternating cable bicep curls, and dumbbell kickbacks.

‘She’s probably not doing extreme lifting but staying consistent with moderate resistance, perfect form, and a well-balanced program,’ Plasse told the Daily Mail in June.

‘Combine that with a clean diet and daily movement, and it’s easy to see how she maintains such an elegant physique,’ he explained.
