Minneapolis shooting latest: Renee Nicole Good named as woman killed by ICE agent

Large crowds gathered in Minneapolis and other cities across the U.S. Wednesday to protest the killing of 37-year-old Renee Nicole Good, who was fatally shot yesterday morning by an Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent during a demonstration against President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown.

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem claimed Good attempted to ram ICE officers with her vehicle, leaving the agent responsible with no choice but to fire in self-defense, calling the incident an act of “domestic terrorism.” Her version of events has been hotly disputed by local officials.

Video of the incident shows Good inside her vehicle, blocking ICE agents. A group of officials then surround the car and tell her to exit. When she starts to move her car, an agent positioned in front fires through the windshield.

While Trump defended the agent’s actions by claiming the deceased had been “very disorderly, obstructing and resisting,” Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz condemned the shooting and advised the public: “Don’t believe this propaganda machine.”

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey called Noem’s account “bulls***,” saying the shooting amounted to “an agent recklessly using power that resulted in somebody dying, getting killed.” He demanded ICE leave the city.
