USA men’s hockey team slammed for completely ignoring fans after beating Denmark at Winter Olympics

Fans are criticizing Team USA for their actions after a 6-3 thrashing of Denmark on Saturday before they secured a spot in the quarterfinals of the men’s hockey tournament.
It was a tough game for the United States, who needed to come back twice in order to lock up their win.
But when they got off the ice, video showed a majority of the players ignoring fans who were hoping to get a high-five from the players.
Kids and adults extended their hands over the railings – but a majority of players walked straight by without acknowledgement. One woman in particular, who wore a red jacket, was left hanging multiple times.
Auston Matthews, Jeremy Swayman, Tage Thompson, Charlie McAvoy, Jaccob Slavin, Dylan Larkin and Brady Tkachuk were the few who acknowledged their supporters. McAvoy and Slavin made sure to high-five the aforementioned woman.
A few gave nods to the fans while defenseman Zach Werenski was seen chatting with those in the stands.
Team USA needed a pair of comeback efforts to knock off Denmark in hockey on Saturday
But after the game, a video of some players ignoring fans requests for high fives went viral
But as for the rest of the team, they walked straight into the locker room – driving many fans on social media wild with disappointment.
‘this would actually make me go home and kms and this is why i don’t even attempt to interact with hockey players,’ one fan posted to X.
Another wrote, ‘I’m American and I’m not rooting for the USA. This team is extreme[ly] unlikable.’
‘Why are they like that? Like, would it kill them to at least look at the people? I get not necessarily wanting to give everyone a high-five and being exhausted af after a game, but, idk, would a smile kill them? Or a little wave? Or a nod?’ read another fan’s post.
One user posted that the woman in the red jacket’s ‘hand is too high, and once she moves it down she gets high fives.’
