Jimmy Kimmel once again tore into President Trump last night, this time for breaking one of his key campaign promises.
In the opening monologue, the late-night show host tore into Trump for bragging that oil prices are skyrocketing amid the United States and Israel’s war with Iran.
“Gas prices have gone up every day for the past 11 days, but our president, Ex-con Mobil, says that there is nothing to worry about,” Kimmel joked on last night’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Then the comedian started reading a Truth Social post from Trump, uploaded on March 12.
“The United States is the largest Oil Producer in the World, by far, so when oil prices go up, we make a lot of money,” Trump wrote.
Kimmel responded, “The man who campaigned on the promise he would get gas prices under $2 a gallon is now trying to convince us that higher prices are better.”
“You know, you hear the term ‘gaslighting’ a lot, but rarely when it comes to actual gas,” he added.
Kimmel took another swipe at the same Trump post, pointing out that the president had made a glaring spelling error.
“BUT, of far greater interest and importance to me, as President, is stoping (sic) an evil Empire, Iran, from having Nuclear Weapons, and destroying the Middle East and, indeed, the World,” Trump had written. “I won’t ever let that happen!”
After reading Trump’s post aloud, Kimmel told his audience, “That’s right. He’s ‘stoping’ the evil empire. He really is the ‘stopidest’ president of all time.”
Later in his monologue, the late-night show host blasted Trump for spending time with controversial YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul amid rampant political chaos both in the U.S. and abroad.
“And with all this going on, with all these problems, all this instability, war, inflation, Epstein, you name it, you can see that, for Trump, worrying about this is starting to take a toll,” Kimmel told his audience.
Paul’s video of the influencer and the president pumping their fists to the Village People’s “YMCA” was then shown on screen.
After that, Kimmel launched a new segment on his show, nicknaming it: “Real Moments in Presidementia.”
The segment featured a compilation of clips from a speech Trump gave in Kentucky, during which the president was joined on stage by Paul.
The montage featured Trump pronouncing the state’s name in a comedic country accent, explaining the definition of the word “excursion,” asking for “someone with a warm body,” and requesting Ave Maria on the venue’s speakers.
