Madonna’s Archival Coachella Look Has Gone Missing And She’s Begging For Its Safe Return

Madonna’s surprise Coachella link-up with Sabrina Carpenter was honestly the best moment of my year, but now the whole thing has taken a genuinely bleak turn. The vintage outfit Madonna wore onstage has gone missing, and she’s offering a reward for its return.

Two days after popping up during Carpenter’s weekend two set, Madonna posted to Instagram Stories to say the archival look she wore for the performance had disappeared.

“Still flying high since Friday night at Coachella! Thank you to Sabrina and everyone who made it possible,” she wrote, before explaining that “the vintage pieces that I wore went missing”.

She added, “My costume that was pulled from my personal archives — jacket, corset, dress and all other garments. These aren’t just clothes, they are part of my history. Other archival items from the same era went missing as well.”

That’s what makes this more than a standard post-festival lost property drama. According to PEOPLE, Madonna had told the crowd during the set that she was wearing the same corset, boots and Gucci jacket from her first Coachella appearance 20 years ago, which made the whole thing a pretty major full-circle moment right up until someone, somewhere, seemingly misplaced a small chunk of pop history.

The performance itself was a big one. Madonna joined Carpenter on the main stage during weekend two, where the pair performed and devoured “Vogue” and “Like a Prayer”, and also debuted a song that appeared to be tied to Madonna’s upcoming album Confessions II.

Madonna referenced that history in her post too, writing that bringing Confessions II “back to where it began was such a thrill”.

She’s now asking for the safe return of the missing garments via her team email, Infomaverick2026@gmail.com, and confirmed there’s a reward on offer.

“I’m hoping and praying that some kind soul, will find these items and reach out,” she wrote.

As for what that reward could actually be, Madonna hasn’t said. But if we’re brainstorming possibilities: cash is the obvious answer, though the more fun options are an unreleased Confessions II vinyl, a personal thank-you from the Queen of Pop, or, if I’m just thinking out loud, an invitation to a Madonna solo performance where everyone has to pretend it’s the 80s again. Just a few options!
