Caitlin Clark pens heartfelt message to boyfriend Connor McCaffery as they celebrate latest relationship milestone

Caitlin Clark took a break from her WNBA preseason preparations on Friday to celebrate her three-year anniversary with boyfriend Connor McCaffery.

The Indiana Fever superstar shared a glowing tribute on Instagram, posting a photo of the couple dressed in formal attire to mark three years since they began dating.

‘Three years with my fav you’re the bestttt :),’ Clark captioned the post, which quickly racked up thousands of likes as fans flooded the comments with congratulations.

The photo featured Clark in a blue satin dress, while McCaffery stood by in a suit – a sharp contrast to the jerseys that the public are used to seeing them wear.

McCaffery, 27, reciprocated the love on his own profile, sharing a shot of the pair on a golf cart, calling Clark his ‘most beautiful best friend.’

The couple’s relationship began in Iowa City, where Clark was rewriting the record books for the women’s program while McCaffery played six seasons for the men’s team under his father.

While Clark’s career has skyrocketed to international stardom, McCaffery has transitioned into the professional coaching ranks, recently completing a stint as an assistant for Butler University after working for the Indiana Pacers.

The anniversary comes at a pivotal moment for Clark, who is gearing up for her third WNBA season following a frustrating 2025 campaign that was cut short by injury.

Despite the setback, Clark remains the focal point of a bolstered Fever roster that recently signed Aliyah Boston to a historic contract extension.

Now she’s back to 100 per cent fitness, the former Rookie of the Year is determined to follow all the right steps in preseason.

‘Taking care of my body at this point in the season is probably the most important thing,’ Clark told reporters at the media day. ‘Whether that’s recovery, whether that’s pre-court treatment, whatever it is. I think it’s those type of things.’

She also added: ‘I was talking to [head coach Stephanie White] a little bit, and I’m the person that doesn’t want to sit out a single rep. I want to be in there every single time. None of that has changed, but just being a little bit smarter with my body.’

The Fever have two preseason games in store against the New York Liberty and the Dallas Wings over the next week, before they begin the 2026 WNBA season against the latter team on May 9.
