Sydney Sweeney Is Apparently ‘Furious’ Over Her Devil Wears Prada 2 Scene Being Axed

An insider has spilled on Sydney Sweeney’s supposed reaction to her role being cut from The Devil Wears Prada 2, and it’s safe to say she’s (allegedly) p*ssed off!

ICYMI, Sweeney was one of multiple stars, along with Anna Wintour and Conrad Ricamora, who filmed scenes for the sequel that never made it to the final cut.

The Euphoria actress was reportedly set to appear as a version of herself being styled by Emily Blunt’s character, but the three-minute scene was removed as a “creative decision” since it “didn’t align” with the sequence filmmakers were going for.

Now, a source reckons Sweeney is “furious” and considers the whole debacle to have been a “huge waste of her time”.

“The producers can make all the excuses they want, but it’s a gigantic slap in the face to Sydney,” an insider told RadarOnline.

“She’s got every right to be furious at the way she’s been treated. It was a huge waste of her time and further proof — not that she needed it — that a large contingent of Hollywood ‘wokesters’ are out to cause her trouble and trip her up whenever they can,” they added.

The source went on to claim that the supposed animosity towards Sweeney in Hollywood stems from the controversial American Eagle jeans ad she did last year, which sparked eugenicist accusations and even spurred commentary from the White House.

But beyond that scandal and the rumblings of Sweeney’s political affiliations, the insider claimed Sweeney’s peers simply want her to properly address all her controversies.

“Everyone is outraged and saying she should make some type of statement, but it’s not that simple because she’d be opening up a legal can of worms,” they said.

The claims have not been officially confirmed, and should be taken with a grain (or a margarita rim’s worth) of salt.

Despite Sweeney’s Devil Wears Prada 2 scene being nixed, a production source told Entertainment Weekly at the time that the whole team “grateful for her participation” during filming and that the decision to remove her was a “difficult one”.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 copped a mixed reaction from critics upon its release last month, while Euphoria, which is about to drop its final-ever episode, has stirred debate about the sex work industry, the reappearance of old castmates, and the death of a major character.
