So, to help you curate your what to watch roster, here are some TV shows and movies you don’t want to miss in June.
June has a gorgeous mixture of new shows, nostalgic pieces and exciting continuations of iconic names such as House of the Dragon and Avatar: The Last Airbender. So, if you’re thinking what I’m thinking, this is the perfect month to clear that cal to up that Letterboxd review list.

The Best New Shows Coming To Streaming Platforms In May 2026
Scary Movie
WAZZZZUPPPPP! After what feels like yonks, the Wayans Brothers are back — alongside Scary Movie icons Anna Faris and Regina Hall — for another round of f*cked up horror humour. Expect to see your favourite spooky movies spoofed (like The Substance, MA, Weapons and more) and some of your OG Scary Movie cast members make a return #mygerms.
In Australian cinemas from: June 4.
Toy Story 5
In another win for nostalgia-addicted peeps, Toy Story 5 brings back our fave pals as they navigate the evolution of technology, resulting in kids becoming addicted to electronics rather than toys.
In Australian cinemas from: June 18.
Disclosure Day
If you’re still riding the sci-fi high (especially after last month’s Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu), you have to watch Disclosure Day. It’s not as light-hearted and fluffy as Mando and Grogz, instead, this flick will have you on the edge of your seat.
Directed by Steven Spielberg and starring icons including Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth and more, it’s one to put on your June roster.
In Australian cinemas from: June 11.
Leviticus
Going into proper spooky territory, Leviticus is a horror movie directed by Australia’s Adrian Chiarella that explores queer and religious trauma (insert Maddy Perez’s iconic quote, “Wait, is this f*cking play about us?”). Definitely one to watch, not only for the storytelling and the scares, but also to support our homegrown talent!
In Australian cinemas from: June 18.
Supergirl
A story about belonging, packed with arse-kicking, emotional moments, and my fave superhero doggo, Krypto, Supergirl will be dropping in this month, starring Aussie icon Milly Alcock.
In Australian cinemas from: June 26.
Masters of the Universe
All I have to say is: HEEEEEEYEAAAH YEEEEAH YEAAAH YEAH!
But alongside that, after yonks upon yonks, Travis Knight has brought back the beloved franchise to the big screen with Nicholas Galitzine as Adam, Camila Mendes as Teela and Jared Leto as Skeletor. Be there or be square.
In Australian cinemas from: June 4.
Minions & Monsters
I would gladly admit that the Minions and Despicable Me franchise are my comfort movies. On top of that, the soundtracks absolutely SLAP!!! So, I will be sat for this round of Minion mayhem!
In Australian cinemas from: June 25.
