Artur Dmitriev, first male skater to win pairs Olympic gold with two partners, dies at 58
Artur Dmitriev, the two-time Olympic figure skating champion who secured gold medals with different partners, has died at the age of 58, the Russian ice skating federation announced on Tuesday.
The cause of his death was not immediately disclosed.
Dmitriev made history as the first male skater to win the pairs event twice with separate partners. He first triumphed alongside Natalia Mishkutionok at the 1992 Winter Olympics, before clinching a second title in 1998 with Oksana Kazakova.
