Trump swoons over the looks of his hand-picked Fed chair Kevin Warsh: report
President Trump swoons over the looks of the Chair of the Federal Reserve, Kevin Warsh when he sees him on television, according to a report.
Warsh, who was sworn in back in May, was hand-picked by Trump and succeeded Jerome Powell, with whom the president had a fractious relationship.
Sources told The Wall Street Journal that Trump has repeatedly spoken to Warsh since he became the Federal Reserve’s chairman. The president also reportedly contacts Warsh in bursts, going quiet for long periods of time and then calling several times in just days.
One source told The Journal that the pair have not spoken about interest rates since Warsh was confirmed, but that the president has spoken to the Federal Reserve chair about the impact of artificial intelligence on the economy and the war in Iran.
Trump often praises Warsh on his appearance when he appears on television, one source added. However, Warsh is far from the first man whom Trump has complimented for his looks.
After meeting former Al-Qaeda fighter and Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa last year, Trump described him as a “young, attractive guy.”
The president also became distracted during a G7 conference in June 2026, after spotting a “handsome” reporter, Majed AlFarsi, in the crowd.
Trump stopped AlFarsi before he could even ask his question and told UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan: “What a nice-looking person. Is he from your country?”
Trump added, “He has such a nice way about him.”
Most notably, though, the president has lauded the looks of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, describing him as “even better looking in person.”
Trump has complimented Warsh on more than just his looks, though. The president labeled him as a “brilliant guy” in July despite the Federal Reserve keeping interest rates unchanged.
The president went on to say: “I know he’d love to see lower interest rates, but he’s got a board, and it’s a political board, and they want to keep rates up. But we fight through rates.”
However, Warsh hinted during a press conference that “any central banker” who sees underlying inflation moving higher would actually be “more inclined to tighten policy.”
Warsh succeeded Jerome Powell, another Trump pick for the Federal Reserve Chair.
Powell and Trump repeatedly clashed during the president’s second administration, with the commander-in-chief publicly lambasting Powell over interest rates.
