What’s The Food Like On The Traitors? Rachael Evren Tells All

The Traitors Australia’s Rachael Evren has answered the question we’ve all been wondering about the popular reality show: what’s the food actually like?

Fans of the global franchise know that outside of the gruelling challenges, tense Round Tables and constant mind games, the players would often get competitive over breakfast. This was made obvious on the recent US season as contestants including Lisa Rinna, Monét X Change and Rob Rausch fought to claim the coveted smoked salmon before it ran out.

Former Love Island star Rachael has now revealed that they had a similar issue on the Aussie series as there simply wasn’t much food to go around the breakfast table.

“I want to be as polite as possible, but we were very hungry in the mornings,” she remarked while asserting that “production did a great job” and she loves Channel 10.

“Honestly, it was a lot of pastries. If you were the last person in, you would have like, a pastry and a grape. There was one episode where I picked up the tray of sugar and milk to bring over to the coffee station with me because there was only ever one tray amongst the entire table.”

Rachael also pointed out that, no matter what order you arrived for breakfast, the food was never actually hot — which is giving MasterChef flashbacks.

“I don’t know if anyone else has brought this up yet, but I feel like they’ve CGI’d steam onto the eggs in the mornings because the eggs were not warm, I can tell you that,” she said. “It had been sitting there for quite a while as they got all the camera work set up and everything.”

It wasn’t all bad in the manor, however, as Rachael shared that the lunch and dinner meals served in the kitchen were “a lot better”.

“That was where we really dived in and ate. Truthfully, that was really good food,” she recalled. “Krissy [Marsh] is such a mum. She was cleaning up everyone’s plates. She was like, ‘All right guys, give me the food’, and she was emptying it in the bins. She just took over the job of being mum.”
