These are the stunning images of Newcastle United’s new £190million state-of-the-art training ground.
The pictures, obtained by Daily Mail Sport, are part of a brochure produced by architects Populous, who are set to lead the ambitious project on a 260-acre site near Newcastle Airport.
It was confirmed last month that the club had purchased the land at Woolsington, owned by former chairman Sir John Hall and his family.
Chief executive David Hopkinson said it was a ‘landmark moment’ for the club and the development would create ‘the world’s best performance environment for our teams’.
And, as our images show, the plans are spectacular. Architects’ drawings include an ‘energy centre’, ‘health village’, ‘members’ club’ and ‘war room’, as well as a breathtaking hub named ‘The Stables’ looking out onto a walled garden. There are 17 full-size pitches, to be used by the first team and academy.

The designs, which could still be modified, are all subject to planning approval, with an intended completion date of the summer of 2029.
Newcastle have recently completed a £10m extension of their current training ground, but the announcement of the new facility is a show of intent from the club’s owners, at a time when the commitment of PIF was being questioned.
Hopkinson said: ‘We’ll develop purpose-built facilities that are geared towards developing sustainable success in the future, where players, coaches and staff can perform at their very best every day.
‘We will be submitting a detailed planning application that not only demonstrates our vision, but also how we will preserve and enhance an historic estate, its biodiversity and wildlife habitats, and how we’ll be a great neighbour.’
Brad Miller, the club’s chief operating officer, said: ‘Woolsington Hall will be a magnificent location for our new training complex, so we are delighted to have finalised our agreement to acquire the land.
‘We are finalising hugely exciting plans for the estate, which include renovating and enhancing listed structures and parkland and retaining them as key elements in our designs. Our aim is to carefully and thoughtfully develop world-class facilities for our players and staff, while bringing out the beauty of the location and preserving it for generations to come.
‘It is a highly complex project. We have a rigorous planning process ahead of us, but we will demonstrate how we intend to build something iconic that the club, fans, community and region can be proud of.
‘We look forward to engaging with planners, our supporters and interested parties about our exciting plans. Our aim is to sustainably and responsibly move the project forward, delivering a facility that the city and region can be immensely proud of.’
