Republican National Convention kicks off in Dallas, Donald Trump to speak

Dallas: Democratic Senator John Fetterman from Pennsylvania, who has increasingly broken with fellow Democrats on issues including Israel, the Iran war and immigration, made a surprise video appearance in Dallas.
“Yes, I’m Senator John Fetterman, Pennsylvania. Yes, I’m a Democrat. Why am I here talking to you today? Because, well, I’m a common-sense Democrat,” said the 57-year-old Fetterman, wearing his signature hoodie and standing in front of a steel plant as he introduced his Republican Senate colleague, Dave McCormick, also of Pennsylvania.
“I’m always going to stand with America. I’m always going to reject the extremes and socialism and that anti-American way of life.”
In the video, Fetterman was standing outside a steel mill in Pennsylvania. “We’ll work with President Trump to fight and defend the steel way of life right here in the Steel Valley,” he said in the recording, which seemed to combine several takes.
