The contract has a minimum indigenous content of 68%, with the project expected to increase participation from Indian industries, including micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The project is also expected to generate employment over a period of three years, the ministry said. The ministry said the procurement would strengthen India’s maritime security architecture and defence capabilities while supporting the indigenisation of advanced military technology.
