Cyclist suffers life-threatening injuries after being attacked by two dogs at Brisbane park – as locals warned to keep children close

A cyclist has suffered life-threatening injuries after he was mauled by two dogs while riding through a park in Brisbane.
The 37-year-old man was on a bike track at Seventh Brigade Park on Kittyhawk Drive in Chermside at about 6.15pm on Friday when the dogs attacked him.
He was pulled from his bicycle near Westfield Chermside by the two animals, which are understood to be pit bull-type dogs.
Paramedics arrived to find the man suffering life-threatening injuries to his arms. He was rushed to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.
Police arrived at the scene shortly after the attack and managed to locate one of the dogs, which has been surrendered to Brisbane City Council.
The hunt continues for the second dog.
Police have warned locals to remain vigilant as efforts to locate the dog continue. Chermside parkrun also posted a notice to members ahead of its regular Saturday event, urging them to take precautions.
‘Due to an overnight incident in the park NO dogs today (Saturday) and small children must be very close to a parent,’ it said on social media.
