Duke football player who violently swiped at young female staffer was caught on camera lashing out at security guard a week earlier

The Duke football player who was seen swiping at a female athletic staffer as she attempted to treat one of his teammates on the field has been identified as the aggressor in another on-field confrontation.

Blue Devils cornerback Kimari Robinson apologized following Duke’s loss to rival North Carolina on Saturday amid backlash over the tense moment. The staffer was apparently trying to give water to injured Duke safety DaShawn Stone, who was later removed on a stretcher. Blue Devils spokespeople did not immediately respond to The Daily Mail’s request for an update on Stone.

Following Robinson’s online apology, new footage of the Miramar, Florida native emerged showing him having a physical confrontation with an on-field usher before Duke’s game loss to Georgia Tech in Atlanta on October 10.

The newly surfaced footage shows Robinson, in his No. 5 warmup jersey, exiting the field with his teammates. But on his way to the tunnel, he is seen exchanging words with field staff.

The interaction only lasted a few seconds, but ended with Robinson swiping his left hand at the usher, who may have taken the shot on his chin.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Duke spokespeople for comment.

Saturday’s incident quickly went viral on social media as fans attacked Robinson, who has since issued an apology.

Taking to X on Sunday night, Robinson said: ‘I want to publicly apologize to the member of our training staff for how I acted toward her during Saturday’s game. I was completely wrong, and she did not deserve that.

‘Immediately after the game, I apologized to her personally and checked to make sure she was okay,’ the Duke cornerback continued.

‘The injured player on the ground, DaShawn Stone, is like family to me, and I was scared he might be seriously hurt. But being worried about him does not excuse how I treated her. I should have controlled my emotions, and I didn’t.

‘I’m truly sorry for my actions and for letting her, myself and our program down. I have to be better than that.’

Duke has yet to publicly comment on the matter.

Should athletes face harsher consequences for losing control with staff during high-pressure moments?

Some fans took aim at Robinson for his ‘violent’ actions and questioned why he would hit out at a young female staffer in such a manner.

However, other fans were sympathetic towards the Duke star and insisted that he was simply concerned for his teammate and shouldn’t have been moved out of the way.

‘No reason to box him out. She needs to keep her hands to herself in this situation. He is just checking in on a friend. Poorly handled by both parties,’ one X user said.

‘Mixed emotions. Coming onto field, aggression is high, worried about teammate and some person with a water bottle is pushing me out of the way?’, another said.

However, one said: ‘He should be suspended indefinitely and go into some sort of classes to help with his anger.’

Heisman winner Robert Griffin III chimed in, adding: ‘As a man, this just can’t happen. No excuses for it.’
