Baywatch star Nicole Eggert slams 1995 Howard Stern interview that saw him gushing over her ‘big cans’

Baywatch star Nicole Eggert has slammed the ‘mistreatment’ she claims she faced during her 1995 appearance on the Howard Stern show, as resurfaced footage showed the radio host asking her to put on a bikini and gushing over her ‘big cans.’
Eggert, 54, reflected on her decades-old interview in Greg Prato’s new book The Great American Nightmare: An Oral History of The Howard Stern Show.
The actress appeared on Stern’s show back in 1995 after she was skyrocketed into the spotlight by starring as one of the lifeguards in the popular drama series.
Eggert, who often wore a swimsuit in the series, left Stern, now 72, disappointed when she showed up to the interview wearing something that he felt wasn’t revealing enough.
He was quick to share his disapproval of her ensemble and asked if she would ‘slip into a swimsuit,’ before he launched a discussion about the size of her breasts.
Now, in the new tome, Eggert said she didn’t feel like she was in a ‘safe environment’ while on his show, as she recalled Stern asking her to put on a bikini.
‘Watching old clips of the show and seeing how many women were treated – or more fittingly, mistreated – is shocking,’ Eggert said in the book.
‘I was very programmed to just go in and just let it slide off your back. I wish I could just like, reach out and hug that girl,’ she added.

Footage from the controversial interview showed Eggert, who was dressed in a pair of jeans and a blue, cropped Rolling Stones T-shirt, sitting in the green room waiting to go on air and listening to the live radio show.
After teasing to the audience that Eggert would be on the show soon, Stern started discussing her outfit choice with his co-hosts.
‘She’s wearing faded jeans, a pair of like Doc Martens and a T-shirt with the Rolling Stones tongue on it,’ a man was heard telling Stern.
Stern then confessed that he wished she had worn something more risqué, which left Eggert looking slightly uncomfortable.
‘That’s so out, can she go and change? Ask her if she’ll slip into a swimsuit please,’ Stern responded as Eggert opened her mouth in surprise.
The unidentified man described her outfit as ‘sort of sexy,’ which prompted Stern to say, ‘It works if she’s good looking.’
‘Why don’t you go take a look at her first and then you can see if she’ll change if you don’t like it,’ a woman was heard suggesting to Stern.
Eggert appeared to be shocked by the conversation and shook her head in disbelief.

‘Let me take a look. It sounds like way too much clothes,’ Stern added. ‘Bring in Nicole, she’s been sitting out there a long time.
‘It’s good to keep her waiting she’s probably used to getting guys rushing to her … I’ll teach her a lesson.’
Once she entered the room, Stern said: ‘Hey baby,’ before he immediately started questioning her outfit choice.
‘You are so dressed down,’ he said.
‘What did you want me to put on at 6.30 in the morning?’ she responded.
‘Honey it’s show business, you know that better than anyone, you know you’re supposed to wear something better. Where’s your bikini?’ he pressed.
‘Not here, I’m so sorry,’ Eggert answered awkwardly.
He then asked her why she was ‘getting all serious’ before he added: ‘At least you’re not wearing a bra.

On the show, the radio host spoke about the star’s decision to get her breast implants removed. He said: ‘I mean you still got nice breasts if you don’t mind me commenting. Although I did like those big cans’
‘Yes I am,’ Eggert said, before Stern asked her to ‘prove it’ and show him her bra straps.
The radio host went on to ask the star about her decision to get her breast implants removed.
He then said: ‘I mean you still got nice breasts if you don’t mind me commenting. Although I did like those big cans … when I read you were taking them out I got a little upset. I liked the way you looked.’
Eggert told Stern that she liked to ‘feel feminine’ which prompted him to throw in another jab at her outfit.
‘Well this outfit is not feminine, it’s not even flattering,’ he said. ‘I mean, you’re a sex symbol – do you not want to be a sex symbol anymore? What do you want to be serious or something?’
‘I’m sorry, [this outfit is] comfortable,’ she said before they moved on to a new topic.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Stern for comment.
