MAC Cosmetics finally brings back its iconic Y2K frosted lipsticks

Things are cooling down this October, and it’s not just the weather. MAC is bringing the frost back, too. The beauty giant has revived its cult-classic Frost Lipstick collection, introducing a new line-up of pearlescent shades. Once a staple of 90s make-up bags, the frosted lip is making a comeback with 10 brand new shades as well as the return of three nostalgic classics: the metallic brown of Chintz, the jet-black sheen of Jet and the blue-brown of Spanish Fly. While some are a winner for Halloween nights out, there’s plenty here for everyday wear, too.

Fronting the new launch is make-up artist Erin Parsons, who for the last few years has been courageously campaigning to bring back favourite Y2K and 90s shades, and who is a longtime champion of the frosted finish in particular. We also have her to thank for helping to bring back eight iconic discontinued shades including Fleshpot and Bubbles, and the OG shade of 90s staple lip pencil Spice. Thank you, Erin.

In other MAC news, the brand has also introduced its Kajal Excess Longwear Smoky Eyeliner, as seen on pop royalty Rhea Raj, just as party season approaches. Elsewhere in beauty, Lily Allen has teamed up with Lovehoney for a collection of sex toys, D.S. & Durga is getting Gothic for Christmas, and Rituals has launched a beauty range for dogs. From the weird to the wonderful, here’s everything else that caught our eye this October.

Prada is putting a sweeter spin on its signature Paradoxe fragrance with the arrival of Sweet Chemistry. The latest addition to the collection takes a fruitier approach, opening with a blackcurrant syrup accord before giving way to delicate orange blossom and a creamy neroli milk accord.
