A Japanese man has been married to an anime doll for 4 years

Japanese Akihiko Kondo told the Mainichi Shimbun about his married life with virtual singer doll (vocaloid) Hatsune Miku, whom he married in November 2018.

According to him, after leaving school, he worked as a clerk in the education department, but faced bullying and disrespect from his colleagues. In 2015, Kondo’s father, who supported his son in his rejection of bullying, passed away. At one point psychiatrists diagnosed him with an adjustment disorder, and he almost stopped eating.
The man says that his life changed when he heard the voice of Vocaloid Hatsune Miko, which, according to him, he can listen to around the clock.

In the end, he decided to solidify his relationship with his beloved character by holding a wedding, for which he spent about $ 17,000. For a while, he could continue a conversation with his wife using an artificial intelligence program, but in 2020 the option was discontinued by the company.

The publication notes that Kondo’s story has become an inspiration to many Japanese and given a voice to victims of bullying and bullying in schools and in the workplace.
Kondo became a motivational speaker, and in April 2021, he entered Kumazawa University School of Law.

In 2016, it was reported that unmarried Japanese stopped wanting to marry due to high social expectations.
