A Love Island Australia Star Has Officially Joined MAFS 2027

Married At First Sight (MAFS) is officially shaking things up in 2027. While the reality show has famously recycled former Bachelor, Big Brother and First Dates contestants in the experiment, it’s been revealed that an ex-Love Island Australia cast member has joined the cast for the very first time.

Zac Nunns, a 28-year-old Kiwi who appeared on season five of Love Island Australia in 2023, is set to appear on the upcoming fourteenth season of MAFS as an Intruder.

Daily Mail has reported that Zac married TikTok influencer Vanilla Milla (TBC if that’s her real name) on Monday, with his former Love Island co-star Trent Woolman serving as his best man.

According to the publication, there was plenty of drama at the wedding and one couple walked out because of an argument. MAFS 2026 groom Chris Nield was also reportedly banned from attending Zac’s big day, despite being close friends, as producers wanted to prevent current and former participants from speaking during filming.

Who is Zac Nunns?

Zac Nunns was known as a “bad boy” on Love Island Australia and was crowned the runner-up alongside the show’s first-ever British contestant Lucinda Strafford

The couple dated for a few months before ending things, with Zac claiming on his podcast that they broke up because Lucinda had been texting another man. Lucinda has since appeared on Love Island Games and Love Island: All Stars, while MAFS marks Zac’s return to reality TV.

A production insider told Daily Mail that Zac is the perfect person for the experiment because he’s “outspoken, comfortable in front of the cameras and never afraid to involve himself in what’s happening with the other couples”.

“He won’t fade into the background or give them nothing in his interviews. He’ll talk, react and inevitably become involved in the wider group dynamic,” they said.

Meanwhile, Vanilla is an influencer who has more than 16,000 followers on TikTok and just under 10,000 followers on Instagram. Two people who have most likely joined the experiment to increase their follower count? It’s a match made in heaven.

The news comes shortly after it was reported that Brigitte Zonta, also known as Dr Lurve, has been cast as a new expert sitting alongside John Aiken and Alessandra Rampolla. Dr Lurve has stepped in to replace the late Mel Schilling, who had appeared on the series since 2016 and passed away in March aged 54.

“No one can replace Mel, and that is not what they are asking Dr Lurve to do,” one insider told Daily Mail. “She has her own voice, her own energy and her own way of connecting with people.”

The new season is set to premiere in February 2027, and with 2026’s sole couple, Stella Mickuanite and Filip Gregov, recently calling it quits, let’s hope the new cast has better luck in the experiment.
