A’ja Wilson avoids punishment after furious confrontation with fan during Las Vegas Aces’ WNBA playoff showdown

Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson will not face further punishment from the WNBA for her confrontation with a fan, according to a report.
The reigning MVP made headlines earlier this week when she was caught in a heated exchange with a fan during the Aces’ Game 2 loss against the Indiana Fever.
Wilson was seen storming towards a fan who was seated in the second row, pointing at him and shouting, ‘You don’t point at me,’ towards him during the fourth quarter of the game.
Despite the outburst, the league has determined that Wilson will not face any further disciplinary action over the confrontation, according to ESPN.
The decision means that Wilson will be available for the reigning champions in their do-or-die Game 3 of the opening best-of-three playoff series against the Fever.
The decisive game will take place in Las Vegas on Thursday night after the Fever leveled the series with a 99-89 win in Tuesday’s Game 2.

The Aces superstar was assessed a technical foul for the confrontation on Tuesday but was not ejected.
According to ESPN, Wilson did not leave the designated court area during the heated exchange and did not step into the stands.
The incident came with 4:10 to play in the fourth quarter when the fan in question appeared to say something to Wilson after Sophie Cunningham was called for a foul.
Wilson then charged toward the fan and began jabbing her finger at him as she screamed at him.
Two of her teammates, an assistant coach and security quickly moved to separate everyone.
The fan was eventually escorted from courtside by security staff but was ultimately allowed to return to the bowl.
‘Following a report of a comment directed toward a player, arena security spoke with the fan involved and witnesses,’ the Fever said in a statement. ‘Security determined there was no violation of the Fan Code of Conduct, the fan was not removed from the arena. We consider the matter closed.’
The reigning MVP addressed the incident in her postgame press conference, branding the man’s actions ‘unacceptable.’

‘I’m not going to get into the bulls***. I’m just trying to play my game,’ she began. ‘But if I’m just walking cause I just got the foul, I’m chilling, and I see a man come at me, taking steps towards me and pointing at me, I don’t give a damn what you said, I don’t give a damn how you said it, the tone – that is unacceptable.
‘You should never step towards me and point at me. That there is unacceptable. And how he gets back in the game? Cause they said he didn’t do anything.
‘I apologize to my team because I got us a tech. But it’s just certain things that I’m not going to allow anymore because it’s just unacceptable. You don’t know me at all to come step towards me and point towards me and say anything.
‘You don’t have to love me. You can hate me with all your heart but you don’t know me. But I can guarantee that you will respect me.’
