Aussie CEO roasts her husband over his bizarre and ‘chaotic’ living habits in their waterside mansion: ‘You’ve moved my carpet’

Aussie CEO Jane Lu has roasted her husband over his ‘organised chaos’ – from his ‘panic buying’ purchases and precisely arranged cutlery to his neglected musical instruments and the unsightly ‘carpet strips’ around their home. 

The Sydney businesswoman who built the fashion empire Showpo worth $100million made an amusing video poking fun at her husband James Waldie’s quirks. 

‘Things my husband does in our home that just don’t make sense,’ she said. 

What confuses Jane is how her husband, the CFO of her company, can be ‘neatly organised’ in some rooms of their home but ‘chaotic’ with clutter in others. 

Standing in the family’s storeroom, the mum-of-two joked: ‘Are we panic buying?’ 

She pointed at a mountain of toilet paper, a stack of bottled water and walls full of wine, as she joked: ‘Stock up for no reason.’

Walking into the living area, Jane said they were not a family of musicians, but James keeps two keyboards, five guitars and speakers on display after making her move her Peloton to another room. 

‘We don’t have a family band or anything,’ she explained. 

‘But he made me move my Peloton for this. I used to have my Peloton with these (waterfront) views… He had a banjo. I made him get rid of the banjo because he never learned how to play it.’

As she walked into their kitchen, Jane said in disbelief: ‘Look at these strips of carpet.’

‘If it moves, he’ll say, ‘You’ve moved my carpet.’

She said her husband was quite particular with glassware, as he always groups the same glasses together.

If they are out of place or mixed with other glassware, she said he’d get ‘annoyed’.  

As she pulled out the cutlery drawer, Jane said her husband always ensures the forks, spoons, knives and scissors are pointed in the ‘right direction’. 

‘He already has so many things on his plate as a general manager and CFO of a big fashion brand. But sometimes he’s like, “What is this?”‘ Jane said, describing her husband’s reaction whenever the cutlery drawer was out of place. 

In the bathroom, Jane said her husband lined their floor with ‘carpet strips’.  

‘He’s created his path to go to the toilet,’ she said, laughing. 

She described the ‘carpet strips’ as ‘kinda iconic now.’

Underneath the sink basin, there are baskets full of neatly stacked rolls of toilet paper.

‘As if you might use this many in one go, so you want to make sure you have enough,’ she joked. 

The family home has sweeping oceanfront views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge but Jane said her husband would use a shirt to block out the sunlight.  

‘I like to think we have a beautiful house and a beautiful view, but then he’s got this to block out the light that comes into our bedroom,’ she said, pulling on the maroon top. 

Jane pointed out her husband’s ‘giant ugly footwear’ that’s on display in their home. 

Outside, she then showed viewers her husband’s collection of paddle boards and kayaks lying around their lawn.

‘If that’s not enough, we’ve got a boat, I mean tinny,’ she said.  

Hanging on a clothes line, Jane laughed as she showed off her husband’s ‘whole display’ of Bintang singlets.

‘It’s like a Chinese laundry out here,’ she joked. 

Her video has been viewed more than 28,000 times, with many saying: ‘This is so relatable.’

‘So I think he has a huge mix of type A and B energy,’ one said, laughing.

‘At this point, is it his house? He has taken over,’ another joked.

‘Jane, I fear I am your husband too… I am the problem,’ one revealed, suggesting they have similar habits to Jane’s husband.

‘Organised chaos is what it is! I’m the exact same,’ another added.

Meanwhile, one suggested: ‘You are so chill because I’d be crashing out.’
